Megan Aanonsen is an outstanding student at Cretin-Derham Hall, achieving Presidential honors all four years. She is a member of the National Honor
Society, the Justice Education Team, CHOICE (Choosing to Help Others in a Chemically
free Environment), and Student Council Service Committee. She is the co-chair of
this year’s Student Council Food Drive and is on the Senior Retreat Leadership Team. Megan has played year-round volleyball since 6th grade, receiving MVP and All-State Academic awards. Megan babysits and works both at Regina’s Candies and as Assistant Coach for Northern Heat Volleyball Club. She is a Eucharistic Minister and Greeter at Nativity and volunteers at the Northside Child Development Center, Carondolet Center Nursing Home, and Highland Friendship Club.
Megan works tirelessly in service to others. She has a quiet and humble way of serving others. She is a gentle leader who has a servant’s heart. She leads by example…and finds ways to motivate others to serve also.

Each year the NCCW recognizes an outstanding young woman with the Spirit of Mary Award. The award winner must have demonstrated acts of faith, humility, generosity, and kindness through her school, parish, and community involvement. Female parishioners who are currently seniors in high school may apply or may be nominated. The award is a cash prize of $500, with $100 designated to the winner’s charity of choice.
