Dear Parishioners and Friends of Nativity of Our Lord,
Congratulations are in order for our Nativity School Class of 2019! It is no small accomplishment to graduate from eighth grade, and yet if all goes well there will only be bigger and better things in your future. It has been my joy and privilege to pray and worship together with this class and watch you grow and mature.
Please do realize, graduates, however: you have been given a great gift. I’m confident you’ll find yourselves to be better prepared than many — if not most — of your peers who graduate from other middle schools.
And not just prepared academically, although this is true as well. But more importantly, you have been given a strong foundation in the Catholic faith. Our world needs leaders, perhaps now more than ever. Are you up for the task?
As the late, great Pope St. John Paul II famously declared in 1999, I say now to you: “Young people...do not be afraid to be the saints of the new millennium!”
