Sunday, December 3 is the first day of Advent, a time of quiet, prayerful vigil as we await the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ—of which there are two: his first coming, at his birth over 2,000 years ago; and his second coming, when he will come again to judge the living and the dead at the end of time. Advent, then, is a time to both joyfully remember the time of Jesus’s birth, as well as to soberly prepare for own judgement. Please consider the following ways to do both:
Advent Reflections with Bishop Barron Bishop Robert Barron is once again offering
daily reflections throughout the season of Advent to the help the listener to enter into the season of Advent with the Church.
Adoration Perhaps the most peaceful place at our parish is the
Adoration Chapel, located in the southeast corner of the church. There, Jesus is present 24/7 in the Holy Eucharist, ready to meet you in quiet prayer. The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with the infant Jesus offers an excellent point of meditation as well. He is waiting for you!
