Join fellow young adults in the parish and community for a night of art, prayer, music, and fellowship with international speaker and artist Kate Capato, presented by Urban Catholic.
Kate will present Saint Joseph and Simple Beauty, a look into the life of Joseph and the beauty of his journey, as told by the mystics, beginning at 7:00 PM in the Marian Chapel, located in the east end of the church. This prayerful experience will feature Kate’s original sacred art paintings as well as live music performed by her husband Pawel and local musician Ellie Jensen.
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for Q&A with Kate. We'll then head outside to the rectory's backyard patio for a social with refreshments served. The evening will wrap up by 9:00 PM.
One of the strongest driving motivations for offering art events is the culture’s great need for beauty. Praying with original artwork and beholding beauty is a practice that we do not often experience in this day and age, but it is one of strong effort and supreme importance.
There is a unique power that beauty has to help us encounter the Lord and make sense of His divine nature. Beauty not only helps us pray, but it has the power to pierce our hearts to receive truth.
In today’s culture, the world is leaning ever-closer to the relativism mindset, and has started to lose its concept of any objective truth. Beauty helps us to receive and make sense of what is true through its unthreatening and relatable nature. Encountering truth through beauty is truly needed today.
Kate and her husband, Pawel, travel around sharing their talents of painting, music and even dance to share God’s love. Visit https://www.visualgrace.org/ for more information.
Don't miss this opportunity to be transformed by the renewal of your mind, to worship the living God, and build meaningful relationships.
