Sr. Rose started collecting cans in 1988 to help the poor, and in 2010 the non-profit organization Friends of the Poor was established.
They support eight shelters for unwed mothers, so they are able to keep their babies. They help take care of the orphans that were saved from abortion, visit and bring gifts to the children with cancer in the hospital, and support Operation Smile for children with cleft palates.
Friends of the Poor supports a local school to teach the street children so they can have a better future, and educates young women with independent living skills to help prevent them from being victims of human trafficking.
They also provide fertilizer so they can grow rice and vegetables to support their families, and boats so they could support their families by fishing and selling fruits on the river.
For those living in the mountains, they built many water systems so they could have clean water every day, and dig wells to provide clean water for daily use.
In order for Friends of the Poor to continue to provide food for the poor people in Vietnam, they ask you to consider a generous donation at this difficult time.
May God bless you and your families with many graces and blessings for your love and generosity.
Thank you!
