All are invited to our first hosted concert at Nativity of Our Lord since before the pandemic, Bach Roots Festival, on Saturday, August 21.
The festival is set over seven days of local performances and concludes with J.S. Bach's exuberant and virtuosic Magnificat set for chamber orchestra, choir, and vocal soloists in our parish church sanctuary.
A rarely performed Magnificat by Johann Kuhnau, Bach's predecessor in Leipzig, opens the concert, revealing fascinating similarities between the music of two 18th Century Leipzig composers.
