Nativity’s Boy Scout Troop 67 has had a busy summer! In July, Scouts attended two different week-long camping experiences: Tomahawk Scout Reservation in Wisconsin (pictured at right) and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Almost 30 boys and five scoutmasters attended Tomahawk this year, and while there the Scouts earned a total of 75 merit badges in areas as diverse as First Aid, Swimming, Canoeing, Salesmanship, Rifle Shooting, and Wilderness Survival. Furthermore, seven advanced in rank.
Meanwhile at Philmont, ten boys and two adults logged nearly 75 miles of hiking! Our Scout troop is very grateful to the Nativity community and the Men’s Club in particular for their generous support throughout the year. Without this support, these types of opportunities would be a challenge for our troop to maintain. We are proud of our history at Nativity and look forward to continuing our duty to God, Country, and obeying the Scout Law. If your son is interested in joining our troop this fall, please contact Chris Michel at (651) 690-3307.
