Elizabeth (Eliza) Ann Harris is a Presidential List honors student at Cretin-Derham Hall and a recipient of the Excel Award, which recognizes outstanding community
involvement. She is a member of the Respect Life team, School Theater, Student
Council, Model UN Leader, LaSalllian Youth, Knowledge Bowl, Math Team, Empty Bowls, People Finding People, Political Affairs Club, and Link Crew. Eliza was Academic All-Conference for volleyball and was voted MVP her junior year and Captain this year.
She also enjoys lacrosse, table tennis, reading, rollerblading, hiking, and spending time with her grandparents and cousins. She works at the Grandview Theater and at age 17 became the youngest and only female manager. She also works at the Wheel Fun Bike Rentals at Minnehaha Falls. Eliza volunteers as an altar server at Nativity and at Camp Friendship, the Dorothy Day center, Breaking Free, Highland Friendship Club, and the Guatemala Justice Trip.
Eliza is known for her kindness and her positive outlook. And for those who know her, they also know her humility and faith in God. She is never one to boast or brag or be sarcastic, but someone who encourages and supports.

Each year the NCCW recognizes an outstanding young woman with the Spirit of Mary Award. The award winner must have demonstrated acts of faith, humility, generosity, and kindness through her school, parish, and community involvement. Female parishioners who are currently seniors in high school may apply or may be nominated. The award is a cash prize of $500, with $100 designated to the winner’s charity of choice.
