November is National Alzheimer’s Month, and two Nativity School alumnae and current Visitation freshmen have put their talents to the service of families with loved ones facing dementia as part of their Girl Scout Silver Award projects with troop 53827.
Edie Weinstein has authored and published
Grandpa & Lucy: A Story about Love and Dementia, which includes illustrations by Nativity alumnae Claire Aamodt, Addie Cooper, Will Hoppe, Ela Paske, Caroline Weier, Edie, and Shane Zenk—and is available in paperback on
Amazon.com!
Maggie McConville (pictured in pink at right, with Edie) has designed and created dementia conversation kits, a personalized compilation of words and pictures meant to inspire conversation and connection with those suffering from dementia. Both items will be on display at this weekend’s
Donut Sunday in the school cafeteria immediately following the 8:15am and 9:30am Masses.
