My name is David Maslow, and I’m beginning my first year at St. John Vianney Seminary. I was born and raised in St. Paul. I’m the second oldest of six kids (three boys and three girls). I was homeschooled all the way through high school.
I grew up swimming competitively, but enjoyed playing sports of any kind and almost any kind of board or card game. I first heard the Lord call me while I was on a retreat my freshman year of high school, but I let the call fade over the next few years.
Going into my senior year, I had plenty of plans about what I was going to do and study in college, but then I started asking the Lord what he wanted me to do. He then kept telling me to follow him. I went on a
Vianney Visit [a come-and-see weekend at the seminary] that November, and the Lord showed me that this was how He was calling me to follow Him.
