Last weekend at Lord’s Day Masses, Fr. Bill Duffert, our Parochial Vicar at Nativity of Our Lord since July 1, 2021, announced that he has been appointed by Archbishop Bernard Hebda to lead Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bloomington beginning July 1, 2024.
Fr. Bill has been an outstanding servant of Our Lord and his Church these past three years, as well as a beloved and trusted brother priest of mine since I started here last July. He will be greatly missed here at Nativity, but we are also tremendously proud of him and his new appointment.
Please join me in thanking and congratulating Fr. Bill in the next couple of months — and stay tuned for details for a farewell celebration in his honor in June.
New Associate Pastor, Fr. John Paul Erickson
Also last weekend, I was able to announce that the Archbishop has appointed Fr. John Paul Erickson (pictured) as Fr. Bill’s successor as Parochial Vicar here at Nativity of Our Lord, beginning July 20.
Fr. Erickson has served as pastor of Transfiguration in Oakdale since the summer of 2018, and we are truly blessed to welcome such a faith-filled, talented, and experienced priest to our parish staff and community.
Stay tuned for a fuller introduction from our new associate pastor himself. Please join me in prayer for both Fr. Bill and Fr. Erickson for their respective transitions to their new assignments.
Finally, please see the insert in this bulletin for an exciting update on our Office of Discipleship.
And may God bless your week!
Fr. Rolf Tollefson, Pastor of Nativity of Our Lord
