Bishop Sirba to Bless Valentas Marriages

On behalf of our pastor Fr. Patrick Hipwell, Nativity of Our Lord would like to welcome Bishop Paul Sirba of the Diocese of Duluth, Minnesota, as he will be celebrating Saturday’s 5:00 p.m. Mass.

After the Mass, Bishop Sirba is blessing the marriages of Chris and Vanna Valentas and that of Chris’ parents, Ken & Kay Valentas.

Congratulations to Chris and Vanna as they celebrate 30 years of marriage, and to Ken and Kay as they celebrate 59 years! May God bless you with many more.

Bishop Paul D. Sirba is the ninth Bishop of Duluth. He was raised in Bloomington, Minn., and attended the College of St. Thomas, and the St. Paul Seminary.

He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in 1986, and served at St. John Vianney Seminary in St. Paul; as pastor of Maternity of the Blessed Virgin in St. Paul; and at the St. Paul Seminary, among other appointments.

He served as vicar general and moderator of the curia for the Archdioceseuntil his ordination as a bishop on Dec. 14, 2009.
