I am pleased to welcome you to the beginning of our new Liturgical Year, commencing today on the First Sunday of Advent.
Advent calls us to quietly reflect on God’s goodness, and we have much to be thankful for at Nativity of Our Lord. Our church, our school, our outreaches, indeed our whole mission has flourished with remarkable growth this past year.
Please pause with me to appreciate God’s goodness and many blessings, and await a new year of wondrous possibilities for Nativity parish in 2019 as we welcome the Christ child himself.
To guide you through a blessed Advent, please consider signing up for a daily Advent reflection to start your day from any or all of these free wonderful Catholic resources:
Dynamic Catholic shares a daily reflection from the Twin Cities’ own evangelist, author, and biblical scholar Jeff Cavins, entitled “Best Advent Ever.”
Word On Fire offers a daily advent reflection from renowned Catholic theologian, speaker and author Bishop Robert Barron.
Or, sign up for unlimited Advent resources, e-books and podcasts on FORMED, the “Catholic Faith On Demand.” Through the generosity of several Nativity donors, all Nativity parishioners enjoy free and unparalleled access to all FORMED resources.
It is the beautiful task of Advent to prepare our hearts for Jesus' birth, and prepare to joyfully and fully welcome Him into lives.
And, speaking of joyful welcome, please join us for the festivities in the Tree Lot this Sunday afternoon!
May God bless you on your Advent journey.
