Meet Our 2018 Totus Tuus Team

Totus Tuus is a summer Catholic youth program which proclaims the Gospel and shares the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. Four college students (two women and two men) excited about sharing their faith are coming to Nativity of Our Lord June 25-29, 2018!
 

• Sean Mulcare – University of St. Thomas, St. John Vianney

My name is Sean Mulcare and I am entering my senior year of seminary at St. John Vianney Seminary. The parish I grew up at is St. Peter’s in Forest Lake and I went to Extreme Faith Camp every year. I served with NET ministries for a year and I really enjoy playing Settlers of Catan, poker, and hiking. I’m looking forward to serving you as a Totus Tuus Missionary this summer.
 

• Toni Schlangen – Franciscan University

I grew up on a farm with three older sisters in Richmond, Minnesota. I graduated from Franciscan University with a degree in business management last December. I am 20 years old and discerning religious life. I really enjoy activities outside such as hiking, playing sports, running, and doing garden work. I also like playing the guitar, reading books and playing with my two nieces and two nephews.
 

• Yana Vizenor – University of Mary

My name is Yana Vizenor. I grew up in St. Michael Minnesota, which is about forty minutes away from the twin cities. I am an only child, and my parents and I live on a lake with our two cats. My home parish is St. Michael Catholic Church, which is also in St. Michael; here I attended many religious classes. I also was a leader on CORE team throughout high school, which is our youth ministry team. I was in gymnastics on and off for ten years, and I did that throughout high school as well on a competitive team. I attend college at University of Mary, in Bismarck North Dakota, and I am majoring in theology.

I enjoy many things, but the top three are hanging out with my friends, being with Jesus (retreats, mass, adoration, etc.) and being in the outdoors (but only when it’s nice out :)). My favorite thing I did this past year was go to SLS, which is a conference put on by FOCUS (fellowship of Catholic university students). It was held in Chicago and there were 8,000 of us there. It was an amazing experience. I love trying new things and meeting new people, and I’m very excited to see what this summer holds for me!
 

• Joe Wappes – University of St. Thomas

My name is Joe Wappes, and I am a sophomore dat St. John Vianney College Seminary. I grew up in St. Anthony, MN and have attended the parish of St. Charles Borromeo my whole life. I attended St. Charles Borromeo grade school and St. Anthony Village High School. I have three brothers and two sisters, and am the fourth child out of the six. I love to play basketball, play jazz music on my trumpet, and just hang out with friends. I am greatly enjoying my time in seminary and am super excited to serve on Totus Tuus this summer! I can't wait!
